Who We Are

Sabates Eye Centers is physician led, locally owned, professionally managed, regionally oriented and patient centered. We constantly strive to meet the highest possible standard of eye care and always take pride in providing personal care for each patient.  Consistent with our commitment to provide the best care available, all SEC physicians are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

In addition to providing high-quality care to patients, our physicians are dedicated to training the next generation of ophthalmologists in their positions as faculty members of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri – Kansas City – Truman Medical Centers.

Thanks to our international reputation for quality, our surgical team has been selected to test the latest procedures and instruments before they are available to other eye care providers. Our physicians carry the responsibility of championing new techniques in eye care and instructing other eye care professionals in all new and updated procedures.

Sabates Eye Centers is also committed to the advancement of treatment for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration through world-class research and clinical studies at the Vision Research Center at UMKC.
