| As with any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with a LASIK procedure. It is important to discuss these risks with your doctor before you make the decision to have the surgery. You should NOT have LASIK if:
• You have collagen vascular, autoimmune or immunodeficiency diseases (for example, lupus or AIDS).
• You are pregnant or nursing.
• You show signs of keratoconus (a corneal disease).
• You are taking certain medications, such as Accutane (isotretinoin) or Cordarone (amioderone).
• You are being treated for glaucoma.
• You have uncontrolled diabetes.
At Sabates Eye Centers, we will carefully evaluate your eyes and recommend the appropriate procedure as well as rule out those eyes that are not eligible for this type of treatment.
