Dr. Mahendra Rupani is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He attended undergraduate college in Nairobi, Kenya, and graduated from Darbhanga Medical College in India. He trained at various institutions in Great Britain before coming to the United States. He completed a residency in pathology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, as well as the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Hospital, New York City, and the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, New York City.
In 1989 Dr. Rupani completed a fellowship in ophthalmic pathology at the Eye Center, Duke Medical Center, Durham, N.C., followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo. He teaches at the UMKC School of Medicine ophthalmology training program.
